"Jetting to Jackson"

After we got back from Las Vegas our friends Scott and Lori called and asked if we would like to go to Jackson Hole with them to celebrate Lori's Birthday......ummmm..let us think about it...well yes!! So the next day we were on our way to Jackson flying off in their very nice plane. Is that crazy or what! I didn't even know at first that we were flying instead of driving so I was so excited when I found out.
Instead of a 5 hour or longer drive with potty breaks etc. it took only one hour!! Now that was amazing. I am so spoiled now!!
We were in Jackson from Wed. to Sat. Scott rented a very fun house that was 7000 sq ft. for us. Once again feeling like a celebrity. We ate at very nice restaurants, (I even had my very first taste of Buffalo)! I'm probably the last one out of all of you to try it. It was very good actually better then beef to me. It's much leaner. I tried a tiny bit of duck, Lori ordered duck cakes but I wasn't feeling to good that night so duck sounded gross but they talked me into trying it, it wasn't bad. The way the restaurant prepared it , it tasted a little like sausage. We shopped, hiked and did a little rock climbing. Lori wanted to learn how to climb and so we paid for lessons for her. Its' hard to find the right gift for a girl who has everything so we were excited to be able to do this for her. While we were in the middle of climbing lessons it started to rain like crazy and we were gathering our stuff and running for the car as fast as we could which wasn't close! In the rush to get to a dry safe place we left the Dastrup's camera on a rock. I couldn't believe it as I was the last one taking pictures with it I felt responsible for it. They said they wanted a new camera anyway...yeah right....I felt so bad. During the night I had the thought come to me that said..."The camera got wet on the outside but the camera card is safe, go back and get the camera". The next day Dan and the guys hiked back to find the camera and there it sat on a rock and when they tried it, it worked great, I was sooo happy and thankful that I listened to the spirit and followed through with the advice I was given.
On Thursday morning Scott treated Lori, Linda and I to massages at the spa. Can you believe it. I'm telling you I felt like a movie star the whole trip!
Thank you Scott and Lori for all the good times you share with us. We Love you and appreciate your friendship so much.
Thanks for spoiling us!!

This is where I first learned to climb.

The mosquito's were out in full force for awhile and
Jim had this neat jacket for protection. The bad
thing is they were still biting my hands.

  1. Wow, what a vacation! It must feel nice to hang out with the high rollers. :) Looks like tons of fun and sounds like you were thoroughly pampered. You deserved to be spoiled every once in a while.

  2. I'm glad you had such a fun vacation. I wouldn't mind having friends who had access to their own plane. Thank goodness you found the camera.
