Diamond Fork Canyon

Sunday afternoon I wanted to go for a little drive to check out an area in Spanish Fork Canyon that Matt and Mike Staker had taken their families rock climbing. Dan usually knows all the areas to go rock climbing and yet he had not heard of this place. I was shocked! I was planning on just driving to the area and look at it, so I left my Sunday clothes on except I had slipped on some casual dress shorts. Well, I should have known better to take Dan to a place like this and not expect him to want to get out of the car!! Next thing I know I am going for a hike in basically my church clothes. It was hard for me to navigate over rocks etc when I didn't want to get my nice shorts dirty or sweat in my nice top. Even though I was not dressed for the occasion I ended up having fun in the end and loved all the beautiful scenery around that looked like I should be in St. George.
We did not even find the area they climbed in until we had hiked all over the place. Another family was having a picnic right where the Staker's had gone rappelling etc. and so I probably would not have had to even get out of the car really if we had been able to go over to that area in the first place. I must admit that I was glad in the end that we got to explore the area. Thank goodness I had my river shoes in the car or I would have been hiking in my church clothes and my fancy flip flops.

I
I love this arch we found. Dan hiked for 10 hours to try to reach an arch like this in Zion. Here it was about 20 feet from the parking lot!!

I'm way up out on the ridge can you see me?

I loved this cool formation I hiked over to.
The fall colors were fabulous. This is the last day of summer......so sad..

This picture did not even show how cool the sun was looking. There was a big fire going on and the sky was so hazy and so it made the sun a cool red color...you can't even tell though in this picture.

Looking out and loving the view!

Here we are !

Hi There!

Thanks Matt for finding this place it is awesome!!
