So the other day on facebook I saw some amazing pictures of an ice castle. I found out that this fun castle is in Midway, UT Who knew!! Well I told Dan about it right away and told him we are going there! Tonight for our Valentine date we went up to Midway to dinner and to go check out the Ice Castle.
First off we went to dinner at a new place that I found on the internet called Tarahumara a Mexican restaurant that came highly reccomended on 380 E. Main in Midway. It was a casual low key restaurant and the food was sooo good. We will go back for sure. They had chips and salsa the kicker is they had 24 different kinds of salsa for you to sample. Dan told the owner that we really wanted 30 different kinds to sample...LOL just to be funny. I had the fajita's and they were the best I think I have ever had. The food is so fresh and not as heavy as other Mexican food I've had. It really was a nice treat to discover a place that we didn't know about. I suggest you go try it out. The owners were so nice and they are the cooks too!
From there we headed for the Ice Castle and on the way there we ran into a very friendly group of deer that let me sit and stare at them and take pictures. They weren't really scared at all of us. I think they have had their pictures taken before as they were great models. We were up by the Zermatt Hotel and there were all these crater holes around that I found fascinating. I need to go back in the summer to explore those more. I discovered a few boutiques I want to go back and window shop at also. We felt like we were on vacation tonight discovering all these new things up in Midway. When I go up there for Swiss Days it is so crazy with people, cars and hard to find parking and all that I fail to see all the other fun things around town.
The Ice Castle was a very fun photo shoot and we enjoyed this fun man-made winter delight for us to check out. It was cold so if you go bundle up!! My fingers got really cold even with gloves on. brrrr
Thank you Dan for a fun Valentine Date!! Midway is a very fun place even in the winter.
I've seen a bunch of pictures from different friends of this place, but never at night. It looks so awesome! I'll have to try that Mexican place when we're out during the summer.
