I have been down in St. George the last week or so working on our front yard. I decided in the spring to take out my desert landscaping as it was starting to look like a hodge podge jungle and was ugly and unappealing to me. So I ripped out the plants and moved them to my side yard. Then I had to wait for the long hot summer to pass. Finally it was cool enough and we could finally get down here to finish the job.
Yesterday we finally got the grass in! Yea! it looks and feels so much better to me.I had Dan take my 51st Birthday picture out on my new grass.
While I was here I had this guy that faux fainted my doors come by to do a touch up. Well, I wanted to see some of the things he has done on his house and was blown away be some of his faux painting projects. So I took some pictures and wanted to share with you his talents. Check out his bathroom, Remember it is all PAINT! Could you imagine painting the border to look like mosaic tile. How tedious that would be. Megan I KNOW you could do this tomorrow afternoon while Jaida is in school. We all don't have Cody to tile it for us like Mindy does either. I loved his laundry room where he did the Venetian tile look. Now I know I could do that, but I probably won't! But maybe I will! I thought his stained glass window was cute too.
Then today was my 51st Birthday! Happy Birthday to me! I plan to stay 49-50ish the rest of my life on the outside and on the inside I will always be 25ish. I remember my Grandma telling me when she was in her 80's that she still felt 18 and I thought she was so silly. Now I totally get what she was talking about. Our spirits just don't age like our bodies do. I think that is why when old people are senile in the nursing home they always talk about their youth not remembering where they are now. Our heart and mind are eternally young. I sure wish the body stayed young but that is part of our earthly experience.
Dan bought me flowers and the new yard, he was happy with the dessert landscape. I have said it before and it is on my info paragraph but I will say it again. Being married to Dan is like having my Birthday everyday. I get something everyday from him, movies, dinners, gifts, time, love the list goes on. He is the best. He is my gift. I am thankful everyday for him.
Anyway, I also have been wanting to show you my Halloween decorations and some other decorations I liked that I have seen. but have not been back up to Provo so I will share what pictures I have down here which is just a couple of things and a couple I took at the stores. I will have to show you my hutch later.
I will explain the Christmas quilt in my next post, I didn't mean to put it in yet.
Also the tarts that you see...A lady made those at my quilt class and she got them at Costco already made, you just heat them up. I didn't think I would like them and they were yummy, yummy. So if you have to have a fun dessert for a party this fall or Christmas, go to Costco (they are new) and get these raspberry tarts. She had whipped topping to squirt on top of them.
Happy Fall Ya'll!
I hope you had a fantastic birthday, you are the best!!! And, oh please, that mosaic tile would take me at least 2 days of Jaida being at school! haha! That was awesome, he is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHaPpY BiRtHdAy MoPsY!!! Wish we could have been there to celebrate with you! I guess I can wait til Sunday. The yard looks good!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Lynette! You look like you are about 25 on the outside as well as the inside. I love all the fall decorations. That tile painting looks like it would take me about a year to do. Holy cow, it is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe yard turned out great! I agree with you, there is just something about grass huh? It really looks beautiful. And so do you Birthday Girl! I hope that you had a fun time celebrating, your pictures were great! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteok, I know this is late, but I just found your blog through the 2nd ward blog. I had to look at it as I am thinking of starting one for Ken's art work and lo and behold you have our house on here! I am flattered. I know that Ken's work is amazing and I am blessed to have him "beautify" our home and work his magic. Thanks Lynette for including it!
