I did not have a good spring summer wreath for my front door, so today I finally got around to making me one. I think it turned out pretty cute! And it was inexpensive too. Michaels has all their SpRiNg flowers on sale this week. So you better get down there if you want some flowers.
I have to show it off because I live n a cul-de-sac that no one really comes down but my neighbors, plus I have a private courtyard that you come through to my door. SO someone has got to appreciate it besides me!
I also had to show a picture of my first Lilac bush's! I LOVE lilac's and I have never had one in my yard since Mount Pleasant. How sad is that! We always moved so much when I was first married that we just never got around to planting them. I don't know why we never had any on Storm Mountain in Denver. I guess we already had so many bushes when we moved there that I never knew where to put one. Their smell makes me think of being a kid again and picking them to take to the graves on Memorial day. Good memories...
I have been planting my courtyard this past week also and working in the yard like a maniac. It has been so lovely down here in St. George. I have to get it done soon because it will be "frying" around here before I know it.
I have transplanted 12 plants from my front yard to my side yard and I am going to put in FAKE grass! Don't freak out. It really will look good. It will look better then all the ugly rocks and crazy plants the builders just stuck all random in our yard. I never thought I would have a front yard that was all rocks. I don't know why I picked the rock when I built the house!?!? I guess I was into trying out the desert landscape. Well I don't like it at all. I also used to LoVe all the little rabbits I would see around here until I saw what they do to the grass. They trash it and POOP and PEE all over in it and you can't sit in the grass. Luckily they are staying out of the back yard. Last year we were trapping the rabbits and it was fun to set the traps out and find a rabbit in there in the morning. We were catching squirrels too. One day we caught a big fat mouse and he died trying to escape the trap! HE was too fat and was found half in and half out, it was sad and gross. After that I was worried what we would find each morning. Anyway, we will save money on the water bill too and it will be green all year round. My grass will be perfect.
So get over the fake part! I have ......I can't wait. In the mean time I have a lot of yard work to do. Dan's back is messed up again so I have to move all the rock and do all the digging. Well most of it he hires a guy to come help me out. Thanks Dan you are the best! He would love to be digging and moving the rock if he could. He practically dug a swimming pool by hand for us when he was putting in the hot tub!
I LOVE the springy wreath and all the fun stuff! What could be better than fake grass??? You don't have to water it, mow it, edge it, fertalize it...I want to put in fake grass too!
ReplyDeleteI love your wreath, I might just have to copy you on that. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI too love the wreath, thanks for putting it up! I will have to make me one too! :) The flowers are beautiful too! I cant wait to get outside and do some yard work. This cold weather and snow is driving me nuts! ITs APRIL!
ReplyDeleteI think the fake grass is great! It WILL be perfect all year long, and you have a house in St. George, you can get away with it down there more than up here!
Pretty, pretty! Loving the wreath, but feeling too lazy to make my own... wanna make one for hire? :)
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't you make me a wreath!? I love it. You will have to help me get one together!
ReplyDeleteI seriously have a hard time looking at your blog because it makes me realize how uncreative I am. I wish that I knew how to make cute wreaths and other stuff but that is something I like to leave up to you and Rachelle. Anyways, your courtyard/flowers looks great, very springy!!!
